Announcing the MMSOR 2013
Raffle Prizes & Sponsors!

As always, our ROCKIN' RAFFLE will be a highlight of the 10th Anniversary Mighty Mama Skate-O-Rama!

This year, raffle proceeds will help build a children's library at the nonprofit Delhi Center in Santa Ana. This vibrant community center, led by CEO/skater Armando de la Libertad, was founded in 1969 and offers a wealth of services including Head Start, after-school tutoring and English language education.

Thank you to all our prize-donating sponsors, especially GRAVITY and DECKCRAFTERS, who have been with us since Year One!

And now on to the parade of prizes!

So many raffle prizes coming in: a gift certificate to the Marriott, three longboard decks from Pressure Drop, and another private session/lesson with a 1970s/80s skate legend! Details to follow when we catch up with the deluge!
Raffle update: Original Bones Brigader Jay Smith is donating lessons/sessions, with a little help from his friends including Bones Brigade team member Adrian Demain. Depending on the winner's experience level, this could take place at a public skatepark or a special private skate spot. Photographer Lorrie Palmos will shoot the session so you can remember it forever!

Jonno from Decent Hardware has donated this Body Bag for the MSSOR raffle. Thank you Jonno! More about the bag here:

No, it’s not the kid with the social problems in the back of your history class, it’s our new board, and it’s badass. Complete with concave, a kicktail, and all you really need to dismember any driveway, bank, or incline in your path, the Cutter (with the Russian Dolls motif) is the perfect shape for all your slicing and dicing, slashing and shredding needs.

Two Felons

has graciously donated this package of body care products:

ORIGINAL Skateboards just donated this beautiful complete to the Rockin' Raffle! Get your surfy on!
ORIGINALSkateboards sez: “The Derringer was developed to ride like the longest carver while carrying like the smallest mini. Flexible to throw you into your next turn and quick enough to pick you back up on the other side, the Derringer is an all around ripper and one of our all time favorite longboards.”

Dave Hackett has a message for you raffle ticket buyers...

Laura, owner of ROOTS: The Beauty Underground in Laguna Beach, heard about our event and said she'd love to contribute to the raffle. For anyone who's interested in all-natural beauty, skin and hair care products, this is one awesome shop! (My favorite: soy nail polish remover--smells good enough to drink!) :-)

May 26, 2012: I chuckled today when I discovered a box of raffle prizes on my doorstep from AZPX Industries. After all, it's two weeks late, right? But then I read the super nice handwritten note from AZPX's Rob Locker, who gets the Class Act award for not trying to come up with a lame excuse ("I totally blew it," he wrote). Thank you, Rob, for your honesty and integrity. I will always be an AZPX fan because of it. And hey, with this box of goodies, AZPX just became our first sponsor for 2013! :-)

Wham! Bam! Pow! Our good friend Chuck Hults, owner/operator of DECKCRAFTERS, kicks off our raffle prize parade with a custom Batman deck and two ets of Pi wheels. Thanks, Chuck, for ten years of Mighty Mama support!

Thank you LOADED for the generous raffle donation! The "Poke" (rhymes with "okay") is 34" long and retails for $299. Drool away, folks! Loaded says: "Continuing the legacy of the Fish and Ceviche, the Poke is the newest performance-driven stage of a pescatarian culinary tradition. Featuring highly functional kicktails and a comfortable platform with concave, rocker, and wheel well flares, this compact and versatile thrasher / city commuter will take you all over town hunting for driveways, banks and garages."

Thanks to San Diego skate mom Christy Nunes, Arbonne is back on our list of sponsors this year. The high-end skincare company is donating a special gift pack that includes RE9 Advanced Cellular Renewal Masque, Cosmetics Makeup Primer, and RE9 Advanced Instant Lift Gel. A pretty frame, too. Skateboarding and spa products--can't imagine a better pairing! :-) Thanks Christy.

Our pals at Pink Motel Pool Party have some love to share with us this Mothers Day. Thanks Ruffo!

Eddie Katz has been pretty busy since his "Who's Hot!" days on the Logan Earth Ski team in the 1970s. He still skates, has shaped thousands of surfboards, makes custom jewelry, and co-owns the PurpleLeopard Boutique, which features original clothing, jewelry and other fab items. Eddie is donating this special pendant he crafted out of a piece of snowflake obsidian he found in the desert. Thanks Eddie!

Thanks to TOYBOARDERS, you now have a chance at winning a date with a bunch of little green skateboard men...and (new to the Toyboarder roster) one little green skater female! Thanks Toyboarders!
